Technical Safety BC is an independent, self-funded organization that oversees the safe installation and operation of technical systems and equipment across the province of BC. In addition to issuing permits, licenses and certificates, we work with industry to reduce safety risks through assessment, education and outreach, enforcement, and research.
About the Speakers:
John Lieu, Leader, Product Development, and he is responsible for managing a high performance team of developers who are responsible for developing various internal and external applications. The applications range from those allowing our clients to pull permits, make payments and review follow up actions resulting from an inspection to applications used internally to perform the inspection, determining the area mappings for Safety Officer, Task Management for CSR, etc.
John is a seasoned entrepreneurial professional with 25 years of multi-faceted skills. Achievements include cofounding EQO, the world’s first mobile social phonebook application with 3 million users in over 200 countries and US$12 million in venture capital financing; continued success in building large scale enterprise-grade applications for different industries. John has proven product management experience with extensive background in agile software product development.
Kelcy MacMillan, Talent Acquisition Advisor. She works with a small team of recruiters to implement the overall talent acquisition function across the organization. They do this by supporting the enhancements to the organization’s recruitment strategies, providing talent acquisition guidance, and coaching for leaders, while building external talent connections and partnerships specifically for recruiting.
