DESCRIPTION:In this webinar\, Next Stop Canada Youth Information and Referral Specialists Kasthuri Jeyaraj and Kathleen Velasco will provide an overview of Canada’s Elementary and Secondary Education System. They will give some insight into the school system and go over the documents required for enrollment\, types of schools\, specialized programs\, graduation requirements\, and much more.About the Speakers: \nKathleen Velasco is a Certified Youth Information and Referral Specialist at Next Stop Canada. Based out of Toronto\, Ontario\, Kathleen works with pre-arrival immigrant youth\, adults\, and families to help them prepare for life in Canada. In addition to information and referral provision\, Kathleen helps co-coordinate the Next Stop Canada Youth Program. She has a passion for contributing to the development of a society in which all individuals feel welcomed\, included\, and have access to opportunities to shine. \nKasthuri Jeyaraj is a Certified Youth Information and Referral Specialist at Next Stop Canada. In her current role\, she supports pre-arrival youth and their families to prepare for life in Canada. Kasthuri has been working with youth for over 7 years with a focus on employment and newcomer programs. As a previous newcomer herself\, she has a passion to use that experience and the challenges she and her family faced to help support other newcomer youth and their families.\n  \n
